All Colts Council members and Young Commoners are invited to enter the judging competition at the Stallion Show.
This will be held after the gymkhana and before the Barbecue.
Do I have to enter on my own?
We all enjoy a bit of competition, but to keep it fun you are invited to enter in pairs so that you have someone to confer with. There will be rosettes for all competitors.
How will it work?
Each pair will be given a scoring sheet and you will be asked to judge four ponies by awarding each pony scores for their conformation and their movement. The judge will also score the ponies and the pair with the scores closest to the judge will win.
There will be three classes:
Colts Council age 10 and under
Colts Council age 11-16
Young Commoners over 16

Painted to Commemorate 100 years of the Commoners Defence Association
This picture was produced as part of the celebration of the centenary year of the New Forest Commoners Defence Association. It was sold by auction at the 2009 New Forest Show, with all proceeds to the NFCDA.
The watercolour depicts a drift scene on South Weirs, Brockenhurst and is surrounded by pencil sketches depicting various aspects of Commoning life.
The top section represents the administrative bodies of Commoning.
Starting in the top left corner: Agisters of the past, Jesse Taylor, Charles Evemy, and Albert Evemy. The Verderers Court, overseeing the Commoning community, then modern day faces, retired Head Agister, Brian Ingram, current Head Agister, Jonathan Gerrelli, Verderer, John Adams, followed by two Agisters Robert Maton and Mike Lovell.
The bottom left hand corner portrays Richard Stride watching a litter of his piglets, then a young commoner, Jake Moore astride one of his young Galloways.
This is followed by Charlie and Lauren Maton, cuddled up to their donkey foal and overlooked by a proud Jenny and her foal. This bottom section of the picture represents the essence of Commoning, the breeding of young stock!
The central section, comprising of a watercolour of a drift scene at South Weirs, Brockenhurst. Typical old commoner’s cottages overlook the green where from the foreground, working back; you can see Nicky Adams is turning Longmead Katie, (artists roan mare) back towards Simon Crouch and Trevor Adams. Then in the distance Luke Blomfield is followed by Steve Kitcher bringing up another group of ponies.
