Forestry Commission announce details of grazing for tender
The Forestry Commission have recently announced details of grazing at Denny Wood that they are offering for tender.
Viewing
The land may be inspected at any time.
Eligibility
The Forestry Commission wishes to give practical support to the commoning system which is vital for the continued well-being of the New Forest in its present form. To this end, it has been decided that only those who are practising Commoners or those who can demonstrate a genuine and sustainable desire to be practising Commoners will be eligible for renting the area.
The land may only be grazed by commoning stock which is the bona fide property of the tenant or used as backup land in support of commoning by that tenant.
Tenderers must complete in full and return the enclosed form on commoning information in addition to the usual tender form and be prepared for further enquiries to be made so that the Commission may be satisfied about their eligibility and suitability.
Submission of Tender
Any tender must be for a certain specific sum for the first year’s rent, being the period from 1 November 2009 to 31st October 2010. Figures quoted by the week, month or any other period will be rejected. Similarly will be rejected those tenders expressed in terms of being £x higher than any other highest offer.
Tenders must be in writing on the specified form.
Tenderers will be deemed to have satisfied themselves on the terms of the Farm Business Tenancy and on the condition of the land, fencing, gates, water supplies and access and their tenders will be considered on that basis.
Tender Forms, together with the information form, must be submitted in an envelope clearly marked ‘TENDER Denny Grazing 2009’ to the Forestry Commission, The Queen’s House, Lyndhurst, Hampshire SO43 7NH not later than 2.00pm on Monday 28 September 2009.
Note
These particulars and plans are provided solely for the convenience of prospective tenants. The areas indicated are approximate only and are not guaranteed, and do not form part of any contract or tenancy which may be entered into.
The Forestry Commission does not undertake to accept the highest or indeed any tender. Acceptance of a tender is expressly subject to the completion of the Tenancy Agreement.
